CMA – Foundation Level
The CMA Foundation level is the first stage in the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) program. It serves as an entry point for aspiring Cost and Management Accountants, providing essential knowledge and skills in basic accounting and business principles.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the CMA course, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution; or
- Have completed the Senior Secondary School Examination under the 10+2 scheme from a recognized board, or an examination recognized as equivalent by the Central Government. This includes passing the National Diploma in Commerce from the All India Council for Technical Education or the Diploma in Rural Service from the National Council of Rural Higher Education.
Subjects
The CMA Foundation course typically consists of the following papers:
- Paper 1: Fundamentals of Business Laws and Business Communication (FBLC)
- Paper 2: Fundamentals of Financial and Cost Accounting (FFCA)
- Paper 3: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics (FBMS)
- Paper 4: Fundamentals of Business Economics and Management (FBEM)
Examination
The exams for the Foundation level are typically held twice a year, providing candidates with multiple opportunities to take the exams. Candidates must pass all four papers to advance to the Intermediate level.
